In the parking for said party, we find:
A Saturn Sky (yes turbo, yes manual)
a Fiat 500 Abarth (sorry for the blurry pic)
a Volvo S60 T6 R-Design.
and a VW Cabrio (I think 80's, but it could be early 90's) in excellent condition.
Even the host was kind of a Jalop, because in his garage was a Porsche 911 Carrera S.
I didn't bother taking pictures, but there were a few nice CLK convertibles (I never see those), a new Boxter, and my friend's very nice Range Rover HSE. (you can see it peeking out from behind the Sky).
Also, while I was out buying fireworks during the day, I saw three pieces of awesome 'Murica:
A 1963 (1/2) Ford Galaxie 500XL, for sale.
If you read through the list of modifications, you quickly get the idea that this car is a sleeper. The body was in good condition, with only a little rust, but there were dents and paint blemishes everywhere. Perfect DD/hooning condition.
While I was standing looking at the Galaxie, I turned around just in time to see this mint Lincoln Continental Coupe, which I think was a 1977, pass by.
Then, a couple minutes later, I happened across this survivor, a 1955 Chrylse Windsor Deluxe, also for sale.

I have a feeling that Galaxie is a "I don't really want to sell this but my wife is making me put up the sign" price.

That's a really odd mix of cars!
PS. The Volvo is an R-Design, not an R. Us Volvo People don't like that mistake.

I genuinely have no idea. Is 14k way too high?

Gotcha.

Not really sure, depends on how rare, but in my experience, 60s car's resale depends entirely on how rare, unique, and classic (basically, would it do well at Barret Jackson?) etc. it is, and any modifications ruins that anyway. Galaxie's are not terribly rare or uncommon, and this one is both modified and daily driven, which sort of ruins that 'purity' that would command anything higher than a 4-digit price. Even great, original, running Galaxie 500s still go for under $10000.

you could land a helicopter on the hood of that Lincoln. Back the Galaxy up to it and you could land a Chinook

A quick search would seem to show this guy is actually closer to being right on the money. It's the later ones (1965 an after) that are a dime a dozen.

Always liked the looks of the 63.

Well then, I...
Wait a minute. I caught that. -_-
As I was saying, the Sky was parked in front of the house that hosted the fireworks half of the pie & fireworks party. I didn't get a picture of the house, because taking a picture of somebody's house would be creepy. Fortunately, Google wrote the book on being creepy.
It was a very cool house, very much a Frank Lloyd Wright style. And if you needed any more convincing that the owner must be a cool guy, he came out to "help us" light fireworks. With a blowtorch.

That's fucking awesome. Both the house and the owner.

Not sure if this increases or decreases his awesome, but while some of us were lighting actually fireworks, he was sitting there with his blowtorch, lighting firecrackers and throwing them at us.

Considering I got a laugh out of watching someone blow up a mailbox last night with what was basically a quarter stick of TNT, yes, that is awesome.

I actually had one of my multi-shot cakes fall over on the last shot, so it ended up shooting straight at a group of 8 college kids sitting on a big blanket next to the fire hydrant (in the pic of the Saturn), and blowing up in the middle of them. That was decidedly not awesome.

Somehow none of our fireworks fell over last night, usually at least one tries to seriously injure someone.

My friend didn't no what a mortar was. He lit it without putting it in the tube...

He's not allowed to touch fireworks any more.

I already told him that
